Why isn’t a normal POS enough for a gold shop?
A normal POS sells at a fixed piece price; gold is priced daily by gram and karat, carries a making charge, and scrap is bought back by weight. All of that needs specific logic.
A piece’s price can change between morning and evening. Fix it in the system and the shop either sells at a loss or overprices. The software stores only weight, karat and making charge, and computes the price at the moment of sale from the current gram rate.
How does it track the shop’s gold by the gram?
Every movement, sale, purchase or issue to the goldsmith, updates the gram balance per karat. At any time you see how many grams of 21k are in the shop, split into finished pieces and scrap.
- Barcode stocktake comparing actual and recorded weight
- Daily report: grams sold and bought per karat
- Convert scrap between karats by purity
Does it support instalments or holds?
Yes. A piece can be held with a deposit or sold on instalments, with the gram price fixed on contract day or delivery day per shop policy.
